Speeed’s take
Replacing the unadjustable department-store suspension fork was the single biggest gain in power delivery, since the stock one ate roughly half of what you put into the pedals. Caused the build's one real disaster: threadless steerers are 1⅛ inch, the frame was 1 inch, and the fix was cutting off the head tube and welding in a new one.
“Forks with suspension in them like this can often be a marketing gimmick — you can't even adjust them or tune them in any way. This is way lighter, dude. This is carbon fiber.”
