Waxed cotton duck, designed in 1882 for Mississippi canoe trips, and still made. Beautiful, and — loaded to 37lb with no frame — the worst-scoring item in the entire three-day test at 2/10. Buy one for a canoe, not for 3,000 feet of ascent.
