Speeed’s take
The RS America was finally allowed to buy, and the last with a three-pedal manual. In final 4.0 form it carried the largest engine ever offered in a road-legal 911 — a naturally aspirated 493hp flat six of the kind you otherwise only found in race cars — and again out-lapped its turbocharged GT2 sibling at the Nürburgring.
“this one was a huge step forward the car was lighter than the normal GT3 more powerful wider and had an even bigger rear wing producing even more downforce at speed”
