The overengineered one: low-range transfer case, locking center diff, multi-link double wishbone suspension and near-8,000 lb towing, because Porsche didn't yet know what luxury SUV buyers actually wanted. Now cheap — Ernie cost $6,900 with 150k miles — and the honest base for a daily-able off-roader.
