A 1985 basketball shoe skaters had already adopted, retooled in 2002 with a fatter padded tongue and Zoom Air, then handed to four riders for personal colorways. It turned sneakers into a canvas for culture — Heineken, Pigeon riots, Travis Scott revival — and it remains, in Speeed's words, a grail among grails.
